Mr. Joseph Kofi Amoa-Awuah has joined Co-operative Governance Africa (CGA) as a member of the governing Board. He brings on board several years of professional experience and a deep knowledge of industry dynamics.
Mr. J. K. Amoa – Awuah was a Former Director and Head, Other Financial Institutions Supervision Department (OFISD), Bank of Ghana. He holds Master of Business Administration (MBA): University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK and BSc (Business Administration): University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), Legon. He is a member of Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) and a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMLS).
Mr Amoa-Awuah has over thirty-four years’ working experience from the Ghana Central Bank. In addition to other important positions held, he was Assistant Director – Head, AML/CFT Office, Financial Stability Department (FSD), for four years.
Prior to this he was the Chief Manager Banking Supervisor, Banking Supervision Department (BSD), for three years. He was also Deputy Chief Manager – Banking Supervisor, Non-Bank Financial Institution Department (NBFI), Bank of Ghana for four years. Before his appointment to the Central Bank as the Officer – Development Finance Department, he was an accountant at the Electricity Company of Ghana.

He has attended several training and conferences spanning the period of his employment with the Central Bank and delivered papers in some instances. He was a regular Presenter at the Annual ACCOSCA Africa Regulatory Round Table Conference from 2016 to 2018.
